Job Summary:

The Office of the Registrar invites applications for a permanent, full-time Analyst, Business Systems.

The Analyst reports to the Associate Registrar, Systems & Schedules and provides support to the Office of the Registrar, for all student related systems including the degree audit system, Degree Works, and curriculum management.  

The Business Systems Analyst ensures that UFV software and hardware systems are streamlined, user-friendly, configured and updated when required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, preferably in business, commerce, data analysis, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of professional experience working in business systems and processes, preferably in a university environment.
  • Advanced experience using relational databases; experience in using business intelligence reporting is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Superior technical ability with ability to grasp business concepts and apply technology for business advantage.
  • Ability to analyse problems and determine appropriate solutions within a framework of general policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment, to complete tasks on time with accuracy, thoroughness, and creatively.
  • Demonstrated experience with office productivity software such as MS Office and electronic mail, spreadsheet, Internet software, and student information systems (eg. Banner).
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in one or more query languages (eg. SQL); familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning software is an asset.
