Job Summary:

The Continuing Education department invites applications for a permanent, full-time Program Coordinator at our Clearbrook campus.

The Program Coordinator oversees and manages a diverse portfolio of Continuing Education (CE) programs and courses to ensure department growth and sustainability. While mitigating risks and achieving revenue objectives, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the design, development, organization, promotion, implementation and evaluation of programs and courses while providing leadership to students, instructors, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of CE programming.

The Program Coordinator provides a high level of support across the entirety of the student life cycle, by advising students on admissions, financial aid, registration, continuance, student resources, practicum, career options, and graduation. The position provides direction on new program opportunities and updates to existing programs to meet the ever-changing needs of students, businesses, industry, and the community. To ensure a positive student experience, the Program Coordinator plays an essential role in maintaining a qualified CE instructional team.

Working on an annual recruitment cycle with peak periods throughout the year, there is a requirement for this position to manage complex matters within tight deadlines, which includes supporting students with multiple barriers and diverse needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Education, Business Administration, or a suitable related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution required.
  • Minimum three (3) years community programming experience, including marketing, recruitment, planning, and program deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize commonly used student information, registration, and finance systems. (Blackboard preferred), Video-conferencing tools, Social Media platforms, Financial and Asset Management software (FAST preferred), Student Information Systems (Banner), and AI tools.
  • Superior technology skills, including the advanced use of MS Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry, business, and community resources.
  • Experience in supporting entrepreneurial and revenue-generating activities.
  • Experience in developing and deploying marketing and external communications strategies.
  • Experience planning and proactively monitoring budgets.
  • Thorough knowledge of the post-secondary environment and continuing education structure and mandate.
  • Ability to manage relationships and work cooperatively with other internal units and external community groups.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent research and data use abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet imposed deadlines.
  • Dynamic, creative, self-motivated, professional, personable, and organized, with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising good judgment
