Job Summary:

The Modern Languages Institute is looking for a Language Seminar Assistant to join our team for a period of 10 months. 

Under the general direction of the permanent Modern Languages (Spanish) faculty members and the Department Head of Modern Languages, the Language Seminar Assistant is responsible for providing language tutorials for students at the Abbotsford campus.

Responsibilities include developing materials and conversation exercises; assisting students with problems in pronunciation, sentence structure and conversation techniques; reviewing assigned lesson plans and preparing for scheduled class periods; giving oral exams and assisting instructors in establishing final marks.

Qualifications:

Diploma is required. Minimum two (2) years’ work experience in the language in activities such as teaching, tutoring Spanish, etc. Must have native or near-native fluency in Spanish. A thorough knowledge of Hispanic culture is essential as is a disposition to offer extracurricular cultural activities.
